Maintaining your GHCWCA credential ensures you remain in good standing as a globally certified healthcare professional. Renewal confirms your ongoing commitment to excellence, competency, and compliance with international healthcare standards.
All GHCWCA credentials must be renewed every two (2) years. Renewal can be completed by either verifying your recent clinical practice hours or providing proof of continuing education (CE) credits.
Renewal Options – Choose One
Option A: Clinical Practice Hours
- Requirement: A minimum of 500 clinical hours directly related to your credential within the last two years.
- Documentation: Employer or supervisor verification with dates, hours, and job duties.
- Eligible Hours Include: Direct patient care, clinical procedures, and role-specific duties.
Option B: Continuing Education
- Requirement: A minimum of 24 continuing education units (CEUs) in your field over the last two years.
- Acceptable CE: In-person workshops, online courses, conferences, or other accredited learning events.
- Recommended Breakdown:
- At least 6 CEUs in ethics, safety, or professional standards.
- The remainder in advanced skills and practice updates.
How to Renew
- Log in to your GHCWCA member account.
- Select “Renewal & Recredentialing” from your dashboard.
- Choose your renewal method (clinical hours or CEUs).
- Upload required documentation.
- Pay the renewal fee.
- Receive your updated credential confirmation via email within 3–5 business days.
Deadlines & Grace Period
- On-Time Renewal: Submit before your expiration date to maintain active status.
- Late Renewal: Accepted within 12 months of expiration with a $25 late fee.
- Lapsed Credential (>12 Months): Requires full reapplication and exam, if applicable.
